The goal of this project was to create an engaging and visually captivating animation in Adobe After Effects that explores the myth of Big Foot in a humorous and entertaining way. The aim was to showcase both storytelling and technical skills in animation.

MythBusters: The Big Foot follows a team of intrepid explorers as they embark on a quest to uncover the truth behind the legendary creature known as Big Foot. Through a series of comedic encounters and mishaps, they ultimately debunk common myths surrounding Big Foot while delivering an entertaining narrative.


The input for this project consisted of brainstorming sessions to develop the storyline, character designs, and animation style.


The first step in the project was choosing the topic and writing a script to outline the storyline and dialogue. The scriptwriting process involved brainstorming ideas and crafting engaging dialogue to introduce the topic and convey the humorous tone of the animation. The script aimed to set the stage for the exploration of the myth of Bigfoot while maintaining an entertaining narrative flow. Here is the script that served as the foundation for the animation:


After finalizing the script, the next step was to create a storyboard to visualize the sequence of scenes and actions in the animation. Initially, I drew the initial scenes by hand in Procreate with my iPad. The storyboard served as a rough outline of the entire story, focusing on key moments and transitions. As the project progressed, the storyboard evolved and improved, with more detail added to each scene to better communicate the visual narrative.

  • Mapping out the sequence of events and camera angles.
  • The evolving storyboard provided a visual blueprint for the animation, guiding the development of character movements, visual effects, and scene transitions.

Character Design and Visual Elements:

  • Big Foot Character Design: Utilizing Procreate, I sketched the Big Foot character in various positions to explore different expressions and movements. These sketches helped define the appearance and personality of Big Foot in the animation.
  • Typography Design: Designed the typography for the starting scene to establish the tone and visual style of the animation. This involved selecting appropriate fonts and layout to enhance readability and visual appeal.
  • Utilization of Adobe Stock Vector Illustrations: Incorporated Adobe Stock vector illustrations for certain elements such as backgrounds, the crew, and investigation board components. While utilizing pre-existing vector illustrations, I customized and adapted them to fit the specific requirements of the animation.
  • Overall Panel Design: Designed the overall panels to ensure coherence and consistency throughout the animation. This involved arranging elements such as characters, backgrounds, and text in a visually appealing and narrative-enhancing manner.


I extensively utilized Adobe After Effects to animate characters, backgrounds, and special effects throughout the animation. I employed puppet animation techniques to bring the Big Foot character to life, particularly in the walking scenes. This involved a detailed process of designing each body part in separate layers to allow for realistic movement. Creating a smooth walk cycle for Big Foot was a complex process, requiring precise timing and coordination of body movements.
I animated character interactions and expressions to convey emotions and enhance storytelling. This involved keyframing and manipulating character rigs to achieve desired movements and gestures. I incorporated background animations to add depth and atmosphere to the scenes. This included animating environmental elements such as trees, bushes, and clouds to create a dynamic and immersive setting.
I implemented special effects to enhance visual impact and storytelling. This included effects such as smoke, dust, and lighting effects to add realism and drama to certain scenes.

Voice Over

For the voice-over narration, I utilized Eleven Lab's AI Generator to generate a high-quality voiceover for the animation. By providing the script as input, Eleven Lab's AI Generator efficiently processed the text and produced a professional-grade voiceover in a short amount of time. The use of AI technology allowed for a streamlined and efficient process, eliminating the need for traditional voice actors and reducing production time.
The generated voiceover seamlessly integrated with the animation, providing clear and engaging narration that enhanced the storytelling experience. Through the use of Eleven Lab's AI Generator, I was able to achieve a high-quality voiceover that met the standards of professionalism and excellence for the project.


In the editing phase, I performed final fixes to ensure that all elements of the animation, including sound and video, were in sync and optimized for seamless playback. This involved meticulously reviewing each scene to confirm that audio cues matched visual actions and that transitions between scenes were smooth and coherent.
I fine-tuned the timing and pacing of the animation to maintain audience engagement and ensure that the narrative flowed smoothly from beginning to end. Additionally, I conducted quality checks to identify and address any technical issues or inconsistencies in the animation, such as graphical glitches or audio distortion.
Through thorough editing and refinement, I ensured that the final product met the highest standards of quality and professionalism, ready for presentation to audiences.
